Common Packaging Process -- Hot Stamping

What is Hot Stamping?
Hot Stamping involves bonding metal foil to a surface using high temperature and pressure, similar to "stamping."
Features:
- Strong metallic luster; bright gold is dazzling, matte gold is warm, and the pattern edges are sharp.
- Slightly raised to the touch, smooth and delicate, wear-resistant, and high-end, often used to enhance the texture of items.

Hot Stamping -- Classification and Examples
Basic Types: Flat Hot Stamping, Reverse Hot Stamping, Relief Hot Stamping, 3D Hot Stamping, Multiple Hot Stamping, Refractive Hot Stamping
▶ Flat Hot Stamping
The most basic hot stamping process. The mold is flat, simply transferring the metal foil evenly onto the substrate surface without significant indentation or protrusion. It is simple to operate, low cost, and suitable for large areas of solid color or simple graphics, such as packaging edges and logo text. It is the most widely used type of hot stamping.

▶ Reverse Hot Stamping
Reverse stamping is achieved through a metal hollowing process: the metal foil is stamped with a hollowed-out outline, making the blank area the visual focus while the stamped portion serves as a background.

▶ Relief Hot Stamping
First, a distinct relief base is created through an embossing process, and then hot stamping is applied to the relief surface. The pattern has significant height variations and a strong tactile feel. Suitable for badges and certificates.

▶ 3D Hot Stamping
Directly utilizing a mold with a 3D shape to form the raised pattern simultaneously during the stamping process. The transitions are natural, and the overall look is rounded and full.

▶ Multiple Hot Stamping
Involves overprinting different colors or materials of metal foil in the same area. It can create complex effects like gradients and color blocking, often used for luxury packaging.

▶ Refractive Hot Stamping
The mold surface is engraved with fine geometric patterns. The metal foil presents different luster changes depending on the light angle, similar to a refractive effect.
